‘’A collection about liberation, transformation and personal rebirth. Gatherings for a spiritual moonrise, the energy of twilight, the darkness before the dawn and the impossible light of a full moon rising’’, stated in its show notes Acne Studios.
Behind those words filled with mystery and a bit like New Age spirituality, the collection, staged in a wing of the Grand Palais in Paris, featured soft and enveloping shapes. ‘’I didn’t want protection gear. I wanted comfort and optimism’’, said Jonny Johansson – creative director and co-founder of Acne Studios.

Materials were a particular focus, with fabrics that interact and change with the light: cracked leather, pearlized cotton, metallic thread organza, iridescent paper.
Acne Studios had also collaborated with the LA artist Ben Quinnwho interpreted his personal experiences with the mystical via supernatural imagery. Translucent outfits incorporated star motifs, inspired by his work while Quinn’s image was also turned into a patchwork for sheer dresses and skirts.
