Once known for party dresses, Alberta Ferretti has worked hard in recent years to loosen up her aesthetic.
Alberta Ferretti’s wardrobe for the upcoming season was full of elements that were part of this approach, oscillating between eclectic and fluid, masculine and feminine, evening gowns and everyday wear.
“Fashion speaks a lot of languages now”, she said. “It’s important that the woman changes and develops, but also that she stays feminine, sensual, elegant – this is my woman”. In fact, she touted the notion that designers must “evolve their styles naturally but at the same time remain faithful to their core values”. Thus, lightness run through her entire collection, while craftsmanship was not forgotten. As for the unexpected and tangy hues, they ranged from turquoise and avocado green to bright orange and fuchsia.
