Inspired by the English poet, painter and printmaker William Blake, the collection was based around lightness, air and water, “on beauty emerging from darkness”, according to the collection’s note.
The influence of the ‘’Song of Innocence’’ author and ‘’Dante’’ illustrator was pervasive across the collection. Graphics, embroidery, ruffles, jagged tulles and delicate, yet menacing prints, inspired by the artist’s work, including his illustrations for ‘’Dante’’, were featured on many pieces in the collection – such as the tailored, double-breasted suits came in a rainbow of color inspired by Blake’s illustrations – punctuated with the punk touches well anchored in the DNA of the house.
