Last March, Puma and AMI Alexandre Mattiussi unveiled their first collaboration, featuring Romeo Beckham and his wife Mia Regan. Nine months later, the two partners reunited for a second capsule design.
The collection once again blends Puma‘s sportswear heritage with AMI Alexandre Mattiussi‘ Parisian flair, offering a range of garments that are both comfortable and elegant when facing harsh winter elements.
“I wanted this collection to be a perfect balance between our two worlds,” explains Alexandre Mattiussi, founder and creative director of AMI. “The goal was a playful, colorful collection, rich in volume and in extravagant details. It is a new chapter on the story we began developing during our last collaboration. We are now taking things further.”
“Together, we have been on a journey from wardrobe essentials to cosy, cocoon-like pieces you want to cuddle up with. This season, it is all about softness, oversized volumes, layering and draping with outdoors and hiking-inspired elements, which creates a certain sense of chic, but also a feel-good sensation,” adds Heiko Desens, Global Creative Director for Puma.
So, in a vibrant palette of bright orange, baby blue, bubble gum pink, moss green and purple, offset by neutral tones of beige, cream and brown, the collection features two dozen styles, AMI classics, including carrot pants, straight-lined brushed coats, timeless t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, functional fleece jackets with large patch pockets as well as down jackets.
The partnership’s new signature logo, a fusion of AMI’s iconic heart and Puma’s leaping feline, is again featured on a series of pieces.
To complete the collection, Puma and AMI Alexandre Mattiussi introduced four revamped sneakers ranging from the classic PUMA Suede to the 70s-inspired Rider, all of which more or less echo the collection’s palette, as well as a puffy backpack, shoulder bag, bobs, black and white striped hats and a scarf.
Captured by David Paige in the unique landscapes of Pedernales Falls, Texas, the campaign features R&B and soul musician GIVĒON and model Quannah Chasinghorse, both of whom embody “a new generation, friendly, cool and carefree,” according to Alexandre Mattiussi.
