February 28, 2021

Brunello Cucinelli has built his brand on the value of gentleness, nature and respect for the environment, expressed even more than ever in his Fall/Winter 2021 collection, which was an ode to feel-good, comfortable looks and cocooning shapes, telegraphing a sense of protection and well-being.

The Fall/Winter offering, presented via a virtual walkthrough, was so rich in natural noble fibers – double cashmeres, soft alpacas, and mohairs as inconspicuous as a whisper – that it induced a profound sense of frustration for being deprived of the pleasure of touching and feeling it all firsthand.

Knitwear was the collection’s main focus. Knitwear influenced all the categories, from coats and blazers to the accessories.

The brand succeeded in delivering aesthetic harmony, with a color palette that in itself was as soothing as can be, with earthy tones of cream and delicate beige, touches of golden brown and soft grays and winter whites. Even the pastels were toned down and unsaturated.

Nothing was too tight or formal, as volumes were soft and silhouettes fluid and cozy.
