Stuart Vevers, creative director of Coach 1941, re-created ‘’the quintessential New York City loft’’ in a former warehouse on 12th Avenue, exactly at the 47th Street Warehouse, as a backdrop for his Fall/Winter 2020 collection.
This was chapter two of his interpretation of ‘’stripped-back New York cool’’ to continue a narrative that started last season. The collection was energized with a youthful attitude, marked by Vevers’ self-confessed ‘’pop-culture obsessions’’.
Beside a subdued color palette, illuminated by touches of yellow and blue, stripes, sporty details and leather as Coach’s root – used for great beautifuls trenchcoats and jackets, Stuart Vevers also tapped Jean-Michel Basquiat’s abstract artwork to emblazon on pieces, celebrating the collaboration with the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
