Dunhill Spring/Summer 2022 – Paris Fashion Week Men’s

In four years as Dunhill’s creative director, Mark Weston has profoundly changed the image and aesthetic of the venerable house known until then for its traditional tailored suits, tuxedos and luxe leather accessories.

Entitled “Identities”, Mark Weston’s new collection continued to refresh the brand, targeting its new generation Z clientele, by questioning “clothing archetypes but also identities of Britishness, of masculinity, of uniforms, as well as those of Dunhill past and new era archetypes” but always in keeping with Dunhill’s own London soul.

The practicality and utility were well underlined in the collection, in the form of modular parkas with zippers, coats and jackets with high visibility details, removable and interchangeable elements that allow them to be worn several different ways or electric bright cummerbunds that doubled as cross-body bags. Not to mention classic tailor-made suits that can perfectly be worn as separate pieces.

Meanwhile, baseball caps in pink silk faille and satin-edged pastel crochet cardigans, inspired by one of his granny’s blankets added a touch of eccentricity.

Weston’s other big innovation this season was working with photographer Ellen Carey, known for her work made with Polaroids. Weston reimagined Carey’s abstract work in psychedelic colors and created bold new prints that send the collection truly modern.
