Had Gabriela Hearst been showing on the New York Fashion Week schedule as she has in the past, she decided to take her collection to Paris this season for the first time to present her 30-looks collection on the runway.
Hearst kicked off her Paris Fashion Week debut with a buffet lunch held outdoors, in a courtyard at the National School of Fine Arts.

The majority of the collection was rendered in black or white, with a few bursts of color in the form of rainbow dresses or a bright red coat. Luxe black nappa leathers mixed with chunky knitwear to create a broad textural range.
The collection’s genesis was a shell bracelet from Easter Island, a gift from Hearst’s mother back in January, according to the show notes. This was a collection that did not skimp on fabrication or embellishment, even as it ticked sustainability boxes, in keeping with her brand’s messaging around sustainability.
