Giambattista Valli, known for gigantic tulle ball gowns, opted for a digital lookbook presentation this season instead of a show ranking Valli in the group of designers willing to take no COVID-19 risks.

The video he presented in place of a runway show featured clips he filmed on his iPhone while on his summer holiday at Punta Rossa, a nature reserve located between Rome and Naples, showcasing the distinct Mediterranean greenery of the area.

Valli transferred those floral motifs, ‘’rose branches’’, ‘’palm leaves’’ and ‘’flower blossoms’’, to easy poplin dresses with touches of black lace, embellished them over neat broderie anglaise shirts, and printed them on delicate blouses as if they’d been painted by hand. Think also to daywear with a relaxed and easygoing vibe: cropped white cotton T-shirt with ruffled sleeves embroidered with the new Valli monogram, shortest skirt paired with a matching white tweed cropped jacket or a range of T-shirts with gems and pearls encrusted along the necklines.
