Clare Waight Keller described the theme of her collection Fall/Winter 2019 for Givenchy as ‘’the winter of Eden’’, and as ‘’the origin myth – the temptation of Adam and Eve intertwined, touched by a polished sense of individuality’’, said the show notes.
The notes helped to explain the contrasting looks that came down the runway: a series of stiff Herringbone and solid color wool suiting to start, then very pretty array of plissé floral-print dresses, then some more sharp tailoring cinched with skinny belts, a few cropped puffer coats, and, to cap it all off, voluminous evening wear with enormous sculptural sleeves.
