To celebrate the Year of the Dog, set to start on February 16, Gucci has created an exclusive capsule collection of dog-related items.
Made of 63 items, the collection was inspired by a pillow gifted to the designer by artist Helen Downie, better known as Unskilled Worker, that featured an image of his two Boston terriers, Bosco and Orso.
The new collection includes women’s and men’s ready-to-wear items, shoes, handbags, luggage, small leather goods and accessories.
The Unskilled Worker’s dog design adorns a wide range of items, including brightly colours knits and denim shorts, as well as backpacks and tote bags in Gucci’s signature logoed Supreme fabric and on leather clutch bags and wallets. Trainers, scarves and jewelry are also embellished with motifs of the two beloved dogs.
The fashion house tapped photographer Petra Collins and models Ellia Sophia Coggins, Unia Pakhomova, Gao Jie, Dylan Xue, Tex Santos-Shaw, Xie Chenglin, Eun Sang and Ruoyang He to wear the collection.
The Gucci “Year of the Dog” capsule collection is currently available in all markets, both in Gucci stores and on gucci.com
