Clapped like crazy by an electrified Timothée Chalamet, Haider Ackermann’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection, commercial and accessible, was filled with ideas executed with calm and stable confidence.
‘’I wanted something more absent. I wanted the clothes to disappear in the background’’, he said backstage. ‘’It doesn’t do justice to my clothes, I know, but… I felt everything is so loud I wanted this quietness, peacefulness’’.
But behind this apparent peacefulness, there was a powerful force of creative energy and colors that pass through inspirations from the East and the West, Madame Grès pleats, kimonos, pajama dressing, utilitywear and more.
For his men and women, Ackermann dedicated to them a wardrobe built around pure simplicity. Everything was calibrated with care and precision through masterfully executed and sober cuts.
