HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE Fall/Winter 2021 – Paris Fashion Week Men’s

January 24, 2021

Titled ‘’Never Change, Ever Change’’, the HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection looked at classic and conventional clothing styles from a modern perspective. By integrating original ideas and new technology into them, the collection defined what will be the new basics of the brand. This collection embodied the brand’s intent to evolve, while always staying true to its approach to design and making, as it continued to produce clothing that reflects our changing lifestyles.

The collection unveiled the brand’s first solid pleats series using 100% recycled polyester fabric. It has the same finish and texture as the original fabric, available in ink black this season for easy mixing and matching, and in five styles including the standard pants (the style pleated around the waist and hem) with pleated front detail.

HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE also introduced new styles of its tailored pleats such as a slim, short-length jacket and pants integrated with a waist apron, available in an understated color palette. Included in the collection was a new coat series featuring a double sleeve construction, where the sleeves around the elbow were tucked inward and then pressed. The fabric was made from threads with a hollow core for lightness, finished in a linear form with a sharp silhouette while the print of the season was hand-drawn and inspired by basket weave.
