For the Isabel Marant’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection, the like-a-French-woman classics came down the runway with, as always, a certainly commercial twist.
Inspired by Spanish artist Manolo Ballesteros’ work, monochrome looks and geometric silhouettes dominated the runway while the architectural shapes blurring the lines between the male and female pieces, with broad shoulders and thin waists. And the Fall/Winter will certainly be cozy, given the lush knits for her and him, the wide wool capes or the sharp coats.
‘’It’s one of the first seasons where I didn’t have a specific theme. I just wanted to do very cozy, elegant clothes that you won’t want to throw away’’, the French designer said backstage. ‘’Warming and reassuring things that you feel well in. I think it’s because of the times we live in’’.
