This season, Isabel Marant was inspired by American alt-rock band Blonde Redhead, citing her friend, lead singer Kazu Makino, as her muse. Marant said she’s a big fan. “There’s an old song from them that was really inspiring me, it’s this ballad, ‘Cat on Tin Roof’”, she explained.

“For me, this season was about this ballad of a girl, she’s really going to the essentials; she wears a knitted dress with a huge coat over it. I wanted to do something very evident and very cozy, and easy to wear, and being naively sexy. She’s very discreet and at the same time very powerful”.
Marrying her usual bohemian style with on-trend pieces for Fall/Winter 2022, the new collection featured a mixture of elevated basics, Y2K-inspired denim looks, and ‘80s disco dresses perfect for the dance floor. Raw fabrics like nylon and leather were muted by sequins and fringe details, making this year’s collection cooler and more effortless than last Fall’s futuristic, otherworldly show.
