Loewe – Spring/Summer 2021 – Paris Fashion Week Men’s

Jonathan Anderson’s interactive ‘’show in a box’’ for Loewe takes the cake, complete with a pop-up show set, a flip-book of photos of the clothes on mannequins, a paper-pattern of one of the garments, print-outs of sunglasses to try on, textile samples, a set of paper pineapple bags and looks to stick together to make your own 3D ‘’models’’, a voiceover soundtrack on a vinyl 45, to be played on a rickety cardboard player you spin with your forefinger and a pamphlet listing Anderson’s art history inspirations. It’s all contained in a hard-case filing box, perfectly expressing Anderson’s brainy disposition, and his penchant for do-it-yourself and craft.

From there, looks were presented in various formats from 360-degrees to birdseye, while shoes appeared on postcards and the lookbook was printed in paper blocks.

Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection played with volumes and geometric forms. As a result, curvaceous silhouettes and circles dominate – there were balloon sleeves, coats with portholes, sweaters with hoop sleeves, circular cut-outs, tie-dye looks realized with the Japanese Shibori technique and pieces that were voluminous and bouncy.
