As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, Longchamp chose to stage its first runway show in New York.
Sophie Delafontaine, Longchamp’s creative director, delivered an ode to the free-spirited, from Anita Pallenberg to Veruschka, women who were ‘’elegant and chic, but had a twist of eccentricity’’.
This translated to a lineup with a palette of cobalt blue, chocolate brown and clay reds shown in a mix of layered dresses, tunics and vests. She also highlighted the French house’s history of leather craftsmanship with leather, suede and lace details which were worked with fringe, tiering, and hippie-trail graphic prints and stylized floral motifs.
These looks were worn with the House’s classic handbags like the cross-body Amazone bag or the Le Pliage bag which were reimagined in a variety of iterations.
