Continuing her annual tradition of collaborating with designers and artists, Longchamp’s artistic director Sophie Delafontaine has given carte blanche to renowned Parisian graffiti artist André Saraiva to refresh the iconic Le Pliage bag.

Years ago, one of our first Paris showrooms was a rented space near Place de la Concorde. When we moved in, we discovered André had been there before us – because right there, on the back of a door, was Mr. A. You could say that was our first meeting. We eventually left the showroom, but we kept the door!“, explains Sophie Delafontaine.

For the collaborative collection, André declined Longchamp Le Pliage bag – an expression of the brand’s timeless and classic style – in four sizes and four styles – all made from recycled nylon and calf leather. Large travel companions, miniature handbags and everyday purses are thus dressed in candy pink, sky blue, graphic black or Longchamp’s signature green, and covered in either three variations of Mr. A or one of his companion, Mrs. A – all equipped with his signature winky eye and toothy grin.

Other highlights of the collection include a natural calf leather version of the Le Pliage travel bag, and a limited edition of the small Le Pliage bag in recycled polyester canvas, with Mr. A patterned prints in pink and blue and custom paint splatters made directly by André himself.

Each of these bags, limited to only 200 pieces worldwide and individually numbered, is a one-of-a-kind work.

Longchamp is also launching three cotton scarves and a silk tie to accompany the bags with even more color.
