Virgil Abloh presented his fourth collection as artistic director of Louis Vuitton during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020. And the collection all about suit and the show was based off the concept of ‘’Heaven on Earth’’ and an ode to the freedom of thought.

He deconstructed the suit, quite literally, by carving it up into 30 separate pieces that were stitched together so subtly they appeared to float. Pieces in the collection included various suiting options that prominently featured a larger gold pin button as the top button of the suit jacket as well as a variety of pants and exaggerated arrow-point dress shoes. The most eye-catching pieces featured a cut-up design that makes each piece look like a puzzle being put together as well as a coat with a suit jacket and tie sewn on. Plenty of fur and leather options on outerwear was also presented with the latter half of the show giving way to numerous pieces with frills and a blue and white pattern mimicking the sky and heavens as well as sunglasses and face accessories.

‘’This is inspired by the business districts of the world, and the evolution of the male dress code for business’’, Abloh explained. ‘’As a creative director at a house, which is very different from my own label, this is a unique opportunity to have a dialogue with history’’.
