Evoking his controversial Clochard collection for Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2002, John Galliano continues to find inspiration in marginalized people who ‘’don’t want to live within the confines of society’’ and who dress in layers with ‘’their most precious possessions on them’’.
Inspired by ‘’nomadic glamour’’ in the digital age, Galliano combines garment styles, reducing them to their most basic structures and revealing their inner parts in classic Margiela style. Rather than go with the more typically muted colors of fall, Galliano played with technicolor brights.
‘’We’re all nomads today and we’re attached to our iPhones. It’s everything in our iPads. We are nomadic. We do move in tribes. I came up with this word: neo digital natives’’, said the designer.
