For Fall/Winter 2019, Marc Jacobs presented a collection with prodigious volumes in common with Tomo Koizumi’s ‘’ruffle armor’’ – Koizumi is a Japanese designer discovered on Instagram by Marc Jacobs’s stylist Katie Grand.
The American designer has been exploring hyper-proportions for a couple of seasons now, via the 1980s silhouettes of Claude Montana and Yves Saint Laurent. Katie Grand shapes were back again for Fall/Winter, but this time Jacobs was looking in the mirror, rather than at the couturiers of old.
