Marc Jacobs approached this season as an extension of Fall/Winter’s ‘’without the aggression, and high on pretty’’. He worked in a glorious, mostly pastel palette inspired by the paintings of Genieve Figgis and breathtaking materials (delicate silks, laces, feathers, lustrous lamés, mega sequins, tweeds…). He also continued Fall/Winter’s exploration of volume and multiplied the references to designers who have long inspired him and continue to do so: Yves Saint Laurent and his 80s-era, Perry Ellis, Ossie Clark, Pierre Cardin and to Karl Lagerfeld’s earliest days at Chanel but also to his own deep archive.
