Present in a sort of New York Fashion Week part two a month after part one wrapped, Michael Kors revealed his collection in a ‘’digital package’’ that featured a seven-minute documentary about his love of New York, by the young filmmaker Haley Elizabeth Anderson, and a fashion show shot in a New York Restoration Project community garden, the organization founded by his friend Bette Midler.

The choice of location is never neutral. At Michael Kors, the garden setting reflected his discovery during lockdown of ‘’nature and rebirth through an urban lens’’, and the resulting serenity. He wanted to express the resonance of that discovery in his show and he really emphasized simplicity here. The collection showed mostly monochrome looks, accessorizing day and evening clothes with flat sandals. The color palette was simple while the shapes were both spare and easy, in its lack of superfluous embellishment, and voluptuous in the ample proportions.
