With the Fall/Winter 2021 lineup, creative director Angela Missoni amplified the message with a collection exuding comfort, streetwise and sporty vibes.

‘’Comfort is in the DNA of Missoni: being able to move at any point in the day, on any occasion’’, said the designer. ‘’Knit is the first thing you think of when you think about comfort, and that’s how Missoni started’’, she continued, reflecting on her late father Tai’s fusion of knitwear and sportswear.

Since the pandemic prevented her from putting on a real fashion show, Missoni made a short film, dubbed ‘’Look Right Through Me’’, presenting her Fall/Winter 2021 collection.

The film, which was edited to look like one continuous shot, follows models taking in various activities, from bowling to hanging out with friends at home to partying – all to the soundtrack of an electronic cover of Tears For Fears’ 1982 hit ‘’Mad World’’ by Underwaters. It not only shows the collection’s versatility but also the hope for a brighter future when we’ll finally be able to do those things without any restrictions again.

She seemed to be focusing more on versatile items to be mixed and matched with a free-spirited attitude. Knitwear still reigned. There were cashmere raglan sweaters, hoodies featuring drawstrings inspired by hiking ropes, soft-to-the-touch caftans, inviting culottes and flared pants, and jewel-embellished coats and trenches, as well as a range of cycling and running shorts – sometimes paired with oversize cardigan – all offered in a palette ranging from earth-toned terracotta, cognac, and beigey-pink, opt for the season’s quieter off-white zig zags, or stay true to the brand’s DNA and pile on the prints. All of this fed the dynamic, energetic vibe of the collection.

It’s also worth noting the video mixes designs from other seasons and collections, reinforcing the label’s commitment to timelessness and durability – and, of course, reminding the viewer that a normal wardrobe isn’t confined to only one season.
