For the September 2018 issue, Harper’s Bazaar US is releasing their fifth annual ICONS edition, titled ‘’Bazaar Icons 2018: The First Families of Music’’. Photographed by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Carine Roitfeld, music icons are posing alongside their adorable children and shared what family means to them. The full spread features Bruce Springsteen and his daughter Jessica, Kanye West with his daughter North and son Saint West, Steven and Liv Tyler, Christina Aguilera with her son Max and daughter Summer, Lionel and Nicole Richie, Mariah Carey with her twins Monroe and Moroccan, Billy Idol and Bonnie Blue Broad, Erykah Badu with her daughters Puma and Mars. Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson and Keith Richards’s daughters Theodora and Alexandra Richards are also part of the portfolio, sans parents, rounding out the familial theme of the issue.
‘’I’m a very family-oriented person, so I wanted to meet the families of some of my biggest music idols’’, Carine Roitfeld noted her excitement at seeing and photographing such high-profile musicians, adding. ‘’It was amazing to see that some of the industry’s most groundbreaking rock stars have a sense of tenderness with their loved ones – even if they are adults’’, Roitfeld said.
