Off-White supports ”Bid for the Louvre” with auction classic 2.8 Jitney handbag

Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh™️ is pleased to unveil a custom, one of a kind iteration of the classic 2.8 Jitney handbag, in support of ‘’Bid for the Louvre’’, in partnership with Christie’s auction house.

Conceived as a work of art and a collector’s item, this women’s handbag draws inspiration from the Louvre Pyramid, honoring the symbolic structure. Auction participants will have the opportunity to take home this special collector’s piece, in addition to the privilege of attending one of the upcoming Off-White runway shows in 2021.

Off-White is joined by select luxury fashion houses, designers, and contemporary artists contributing to this cause for the Musée du Louvre and Christie’s auction house, with the support of the Hôtel Drouot, to organize ‘’Bid for the Louvre’’, an unprecedented online auction. Proceeds will be entirely devoted to projects in support of the Musée du Louvre and The Louvre Studio, a new space dedicated to artistic and cultural education that will open in the Fall of 2021.

For this momentous occasion, the Jitney 2.8, one of the most iconic bags from the Off-White archive, has been re-imagined to capture the essence of the City of Light and the sparkling joy of the Louvre glass and metal Pyramid.

Characterized by fine, silver Italian calfskin leather and the custom artisanal applications of silver rectangular sequins, this handbag is truly one of a kind. The 3D embossed leather effect fully embodies the playful light and glistening presence of the metallic structure.

This special contribution signifies Virgil Abloh’s ongoing enthrallment with the landmark museum, following the Off-White Louvre capsule collection which launched in December of 2019, paying homage to polymath artist Leonardo da Vinci.

The ‘’Bid for the Louvre’’ catalogue of the sale will be available on both the Christie’s and Drouot websites (; and The auction will be held on Christie’s platform from December 1st to 15th, 2020.
