Inspired by the dichotomy between “order and chaos, light and obscurity”, Sportmax fashion director Grazia Malagoli offered new interpretations of the Sportmax stylistic codes while focusing on contrasts.

The legendary artistic duo of avant-garde musician John Cage and American choreographer Merce Cunningham, famous for having revolutionized contemporary dance, was the inspiration behind this collection, where references to dance were omnipresent.
Thus, looks fused a Baroque sensibility with minimalist functional codes for an interesting clash: streamlined pants, second-skin knitted overalls, elongated blazers and baggy pants with a ’90s vibe were juxtaposed with gathered and draped ethereal dresses, crafted from gauze, silk georgette and tulle.
“We started with the concept of a break. We wanted to break with existing schemas in order to find new ways of constructing something around the body”, explained Grazia Malagoli. “The idea was to work with oppositions and contrasts by mixing the hyper-decorative baroque with the simplicity of minimalism, the skintight garments of dancers with more theatrical pieces featuring 3D decorations and effects”.
The same dichotomy was applied to the colors with a play of opposition between neutral tones including nude, whites and ecru with shades of orange, fuchsia, yellow, light blue and lilac.
