Fendi - Page 3

The Roman luxury house FENDI was founded in 1925 by Adele and Eduardo Fendi. Its reputation is based on its expertise in shoes and fur. Wanting to reinvigorate the family business, which at the time was only a small fur workshop, the founders' five daughters Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla and Alda invited Karl Lagerfeld to join the House. After revolutionizing the way fur was worn by reinterpreting it entirely, Karl Lagerfeld launched the House's ready-to-wear collection in 1977. He was artistic director alongside Silvia Venturini Fendi, representative of the third family generation. With the death of Karl Lagerfeld in 2019, it is now the English designer Kim Jones who occupies the position of artistic director of the collection for women, while Silvia Venturini Fendi to take charge of the men's.
