Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2022 – Paris Fashion Week Men’s

Unveiled on the last day of Paris Men’s Fashion Week, the almost 30-minute film by Thom Browne completes the two previous movies: the first unrolled at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum last October for his Spring/Summer 2021 collection that featured Olympic athletes, and the second in March this year with American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn skiing down Solitude Mountain in Park City, Utah.

This time, the American designer brought us to the broad flatlands of Northern New Mexico, in the United States. This third movie, entitled “Looking Forward to Tomorrow”, features a single protagonist: the model and marathoner Dominique Hollington who has worked with Thom Browne for many years.

Dressed in compression tights and a top in Browne’s signature gray with red, white and blue accents, the athlete comes running, before taking possession of an open wooden structure created amidst this peaceful and peaceful setting. bucolic. We will then watch him wake up, train and sleep.

Once the night has passed under the stars, Hollington then puts on his city outfit: a Thom Browne seersucker jacket and skirt, completed by a straw hat, a shoulder bag on the back and a suitcase in hand. He then sets off through this green field, before arriving at an arched structure. The sequel shows Hollington, the other athletes, and the audience in the stands transforming into abstract geometric figures. The athletes embodied by these figures compete in different sports, the last of which is the marathon, where the figure of Hollington is ultimately victorious. Resuming his human form, Hollington then returns to his lonely house in the middle of the fields.
