Tom Ford Men’s – Spring/Summer 2021 – New York Fashion Week

Hoping for a brighter future, Tom Ford dressed his guys like the brothers of his female cast, in the same blend of big cat and floral prints.

In effect, Ford looked back to that halcyon era, between the birth of the pill in the early 60s and the onslaught of AIDS in 1981, ‘’when life seemed to be more carefree’’, referencing iconic models like Donna Jordan and Pat Cleveland.

The American designer saw his collection as ‘’the hope of a happier time to come… A time in which we need clothes that make us smile. Clothes that make us feel good’’.

That feel-good attitude was evident in an array of retro floral prints that appeared on silk pants and flowy shirts while pajama dressing – a big trend of the spring season – enhanced the Bohemian feel of the lineup.
