Tory Burch Fall/Winter 2022 – New York Fashion Week

Tory Burch staged her first nighttime show on the 25th floor of Hudson Commons building, with the glittering New York at her feet.

For Fall/Winter 2022, Burch notes that she was inspired by the women in New York City, “explored through the lens of shape, geometry, color and convertibility”.

The collection was all about the contrast, not unlike women themselves – New York women are a complex study and can hardly be put in a box – “tailored and deconstructed, opulent and spare, surrealist and sporty”.

That translated to graphic colors, sharp cuts, utility and convertibility. There were tons of pieces with personality, like tech-knit track jackets worn with high-waisted, shantung full skirts with asymmetric jersey dropped waists, or long-sleeved jersey dresses cut on the bias, finished with geometric block prints in fun shades of magenta, neon yellow, and chartreuse. There was also a surprising amount of beading and embellishment.

The collection ended with a series of color-blocked turtleneck maxi dresses, cinched with oversized waist belts.
