“We are proud of this collaboration with Marni, and the resulting collection. A new era and a new season is beginning. When it comes to clothing, Uniqlo’s philosophy is simple: design high-quality, functional models with ingenious details. I am delighted that we can offer this collection that enhances everyone’s style“, exclaimed Yukihiro Katsuta, R&D Director at Uniqlo.
Uniqlo’s minimalist approach and eclectic vision of essentials finds a clever counterpoint to Marni’s art-centric approach here. Thus, the Japanese brand’s iconic basics become an ideal canvas for Marni and its singular use of color.
Francesco Risso, Marni’s creative director, reinterpreted Uniqlo’s classics through fluid silhouettes and bold volumes, while playing on contrasts with single colors and patterns.
For men, the two partners offer ensembles of jackets and pants in flowing silhouettes, gingham prints and solid colors, as well as soft nylon parkas, Bermuda shorts, floating draped pajamas and BLOCKTECH coats with a straight, wrap-around fit. For women, in addition to the aforementioned pieces, most of which are gender-neutral, the collection also includes light and loose balloon skirts and colorful sleeveless blouses.
