Pierpaolo Piccioli explored an edgier vision for Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection, as shown by an abundance of leather and streamlined silhouettes with mostly all-black looks.
The designer wanted to ‘’focus on the humanity of individuals to depict and exalt their feelings and emotions’’, wrote the show notes.
So, he presented a number of substantial outerwear pieces with lug boots. These were juxtaposed with sheer pieces for both men and women, along with giant florals taken from his men’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection. And about the jewelry, they added a touch of the religious to the proceedings.
Piccioli is also launching Valentino Garavani Atelier bags, a tony range sewn in the manner of bonded cashmere, in various sizes and versions, often embellished with unfussy flowers and bows.
