Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture Fall Winter 2020

Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2020

At Viktor & Rolf, designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren chose humor and creativity as the best antidote to face anxiety and sadness related to the pandemic.

In this way, they presented on last Wednesday a short film titled ‘’Change’’, which took the form of a traditional show in a couture salon, with the singer Mika overvoicing on the background.

The outfits were divided into three sections: one for anxiety and sadness; one for confusion, and one for love and hope. Each theme was represented by three mini wardrobes: a nightgown, a dressing gown and a coat meant to represent pandemic-related emotional states.

In previous seasons, the designers had already been espousing a more sustainable approach to fabric sourcing. This time, the duo worked with local suppliers around Amsterdam and drew from their own fabric stock to create their collection.
