British ‘’enfant terrible of fashion’’ Vivienne Westwood was inspired by ‘’Daphnis telling the tale Echo to Chloe’’, a magnificent 1743 painting from the Wallace collection by the French rococo painter François Boucher for her Fall/Winter 2021 collection.

A romantic sky, bucolic pastoral scenes, imaginative colors give life to an exalted collection with an artistic taste. Unisex yet but with a thousand facets, different stylistic stories intertwine with each other narrating the excellence of British tailoring and paying lavish tributes to iconic archival styles. Classic and modern came together in a harmonious union, new and daring silhouettes stand out valiantly while prints echoing François Boucher’s masterpiece adorning shirts, t-shirts and jeans compete with gingham, stripes, chevrons and checks.

According to the show note accompanying the lookbook, 90% of the collection was made ‘’from materials with reduced impact on our environment’’, including recycled denim, sustainably sourced viscose and organic silk. These fabrics, which testify to the designer’s strong commitment to the environment, were here alongside other noble ones, such as wool, tartan, herringbone or even the Prince of Wales.
