Thus, literary references and leading figures of the Belle Epoque, such as the French gynecologist Samuel-Jean Pozzi, the Polish physicist and chemist Marie Curie, the American painter John Singer Sargent, served as a backdrop for Madame Woo to create a dynamic and urban wardrobe with deconstructed and relaxed silhouettes. A “gender-less shared wardrobe”, in her words.
On the program: wide suit jackets, straight pants and shorts, sleeveless denim shirts, leather or crinkled nylon parkas, radiation hoods became bolero hoodie jackets and fine mesh for a touch of lightness and transparency.
Echoing the theme, the slogans of “Chacun mérite sa Belle Epoque”, “Chacun mérite son beau temps”, “Paris, Le tout Paris, Belle Époque” in French appeared, printed or embroidered, on t-shirts, sweatshirts and bags, while the brand’s logo was given an Art Nouveau makeover.
