The American pop-art painter Kenny Scharf, who has already collaborated with Dior Men on the Pre-Fall 2021 collection, takes up here the famous tiger “Mizunomi no Tora” (which can be translated as “The tiger drinking water”) by the Japanese painter Kanō Tan’yū of the 17th century and revisits it with an astonishing playful freshness.
This tiger motif transforms into prints, embroidery, and patches appearing on shirts, knitwear, denim pants, and down jackets in a palette of blue, white, and red – red being a lucky color in Chinese culture and more widely in much of Asia.
For this capsule, the B27 sneaker, the Dior Lock handbag and the vertical pouch have also been redesigned in a new gray leather and adorned with the Water Tiger.
