Edward Enninful is preparing for his farewell as Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue, with his tenure culminating in the highly anticipated March 2024 issue, as announced in a recent Instagram post.
Edward Enninful, the innovative force behind British Vogue, has publically declared his departure timetable, affirming that he is in the process of crafting his last seven issues. Echoing the bittersweet moment, he issued a playful command to his followers: “set your clocks“, encouraging them to join the countdown to his March 2024 farewell issue. Reflecting on his impactful tenure, Enninful invited his audience to share their most beloved editions of British Vogue under his editorship.
Through his Instagram post, he hinted at what the upcoming issues have in store: “brilliant global change makers, the unbeatable creativity of the U.K, and above all FASHION!“. Clearly excited, Enninful expressed enthusiasm for the unfolding chapters that the following seven months promise.
In addition to his departure, Enninful is gearing up to embrace two fresh roles at Condé Nast: the Global Creative and Cultural Advisor at Vogue, and the Editorial Advisor at British Vogue. Enninful will also invest time in various projects and causes beyond the Condé and Vogue perimeter, although specifics about these ventures have yet to be disclosed.
In his continued engagement with Vogue and Condé, Enninful will work closely with Anna Wintour, the Global Chief Content Officer for Condé Nast and Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue.
Another major change on the horizon for British Vogue is the hunt for a new head of editorial content, tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the magazine. This move by Condé Nast aims to align British Vogue with the overall group’s revamped management structure, marking a shift from the traditional Editor-in-Chief role and encouraging global content sharing.
A pivotal figure in the Vogue universe, Enninful assumed his role as Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue in August 2017, later earning a promotion to European Editorial Director of Vogue in December 2020.
