In a stunning fusion of fashion and art, Marie Claire China’s April 2023 issue presents a cover story that takes inspiration from the masterpieces of art history. Model He Cong transforms into a living muse, embodying iconic artworks such as Sandro Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus‘, Claude Monet’s ‘Woman With a Parasol-Madame Monet and Her Son‘, or Henri Matisse’s ‘Le chapeau de paille‘.
The enchanting photographs are captured by Shanghai-based photographer Leslie Zhang, who, alongside the entire creative team at Marie Claire China, elevates the cover story to new heights. Stylist Mix Wei expertly curates the perfect looks to channel each artwork, selecting pieces from renowned brands like Chanel, Prada, Loewe amongst others.
He Cong’s metamorphosis into these timeless characters is completed by hair stylist Zhao Wenzhi and make-up artist Yang Kaichun, who work together to bring the essence of each painting to life.
