Taiwanese superstar Jay Chou, revered as the “King of Mandopop“, has been named Rimowa‘s newest global ambassador.

Rimowa, the leading German luggage brand with a rich heritage dating back to 1898, is known for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and constant innovation. Hugues Bonnet-Masimbert, CEO of Rimowa, expressed his admiration for Chou: “Jay Chou not only embodies all these values but is someone who we admire for his global impact as an artist.”

This partnership is a natural fit. Chou’s connection with Rimowa dates back to the brand’s traveling exhibition, “Since 1898,” where he displayed a Rimowa case that likely accompanied him on his “The Invincible” world tour.

In addition to his musical success with 15 studio albums, Chou has also ventured into filmmaking, making his directorial debut with the 2007 romance film “Secret“. Western audiences may recognize him from his Hollywood appearances in “The Green Hornet” and “Now You See Me 2.”

In 2022, he caused a stir on Chinese social media with a music video filmed at La Samaritaine, the iconic LVMH department store. He’s currently captivating audiences around the world with his eighth world tour, “Carnival.”

This strategic partnership marks a milestone for Rimowa in the Chinese market, as Chou becomes the brand’s first global ambassador from the country. Fans can expect to see Chou in Rimowa’s upcoming campaign materials, which will be released soon. With an immense social media following of over 8.8 million on Instagram alone, Chou joins a prestigious list of brand ambassadors including Blackpink‘s Rosé, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton and French football star Kylian Mbappé.
