Tyler Mitchell, the first black photographer to shoot a September issue of Vogue, returns to reteam with Jonathan Anderson to shot his JW Anderson Spring/Summer 2020 campaign (Tyler having shot the designer’s Fall/Winter 2019 campaign).
The campaign highlights JW Anderson’s range of unconventional silhouettes – such as knitted sweaters with portions cut out and tailored trench coats with added sleeves – that it previewed in Paris last year. The motifs of ‘’spirited elevation and empowerment on stilts’’ found in the Fall/Winter 2019 collection have evolved into oversized tricycles and other signifiers of British suburban youthfulness.
