Calzedonia, the renowned Italian innerwear, hosiery and swimwear group, has chosen the captivating French supermodel and actress Laetitia Casta to represent their Spring/Summer 2023 swimwear collection.

In a bold move, Gruppo Calzedonia has selected the iconic Laetitia Casta as the face of its latest swimwear campaign, set to launch today. This collaboration also introduces a 10-piece capsule line of one-piece swimsuits, available exclusively in France. Calzedonia’s decision to work with the French icon stems from the shared values of audacity and femininity between Casta and the brand, as emphasized in a company statement.

Though Calzedonia has previously collaborated with Julia Roberts for television ad campaigns, this marks the first time the group has teamed up with a French personality. This partnership showcases the company’s growing presence in France, which currently accounts for approximately 10 percent of its global network of 2,193 stores across 55 countries.

Swimwear represents a significant portion of Calzedonia’s sales, with one-piece swimsuits being particularly popular in France. In a Q&A session, Laetitia Casta shared her favorite styles, including the red Lione with a cutout back and the black Dallas with a sweetheart neckline. Having been a prominent figure in campaigns for luxury brands such as Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton, Casta appreciates Calzedonia’s dedication to making fashion accessible. She notes, “When I was younger, having access to this type of brand was very important to me. Today I like to switch between luxury and more affordable brands”.

In addition to gracing Calzedonia‘s Spring/Summer 2023 swimwear campaign, Casta hinted at the possibility of venturing into fashion design herself. Though the project remains confidential, she stated that she could be tempted to create a product under her name, as long as it adds value to the market and respects the environment.
