Matthew M. Williams, the force behind 1017 Alyx 9SM and currently at the helm of Givenchy as its Creative director, teamed up with Nike to introduce the MMW x Nike 005 Slide. In what can be described as a genre-defying design, the 005 Slide is a unique blend of a sandal and mule, showcasing a closed-toe yet remarkably airy profile.
Making its entrance onto the global footwear scene in 2022, the MMW x Nike 005 Slide initially came in the timeless classics – black and white. But, true to Nike‘s ethos of constant innovation and commitment to style, the brand is now expanding this range to include two new vibrant colorways. Set to hit stores on June 9th are the electrifying “Volt” and the nuanced, multi-hued “Dark Khaki” variants.
The “Dark Khaki” and “Volt” iterations not only extend the 005 Slide’s color palette but also seem to be engaging in friendly competition with the “MX” options offered by the Yeezy Foam Runner. These new entrants in the MMW x Nike 005 Slide line exhibit a unique confluence of Nike’s legendary comfort and Williams’ avant-garde design sensibility.
