Rochas, the heritage brand known for its elegant fragrances, is making a comeback under the fresh vision of its new Creative director, Alessandro Vigilante. His debut Fall/Winter 2024 collection, presented in an intimate salon cloaked in vibrant pink, offered a glimpse into a world of “everyday fantasy,” where the lines between boudoir comfort and glamorous femininity blur.
Vigilante, a designer previously associated with renowned labels like The Attico and Gucci, playfully reinterprets Rochas’ signature codes. We see the return of the iconic squared jacket neckline, peplums, and hourglass silhouettes, all infused with a modern twist. Lush fabrics like chocolate brocade, technical velvet, and emerald satin take center stage, draped into cozy bathrobe-style jackets and dramatic evening skirts.

The collection is a study in contrasts: satin duvets morph into chic bomber jackets, while snug cardigans find their perfect match in voluminous trumpet skirts. This playful juxtaposition echoes Vigilante’s own description of his approach – “everyday fantasy.” Hydrangea-like embroideries adorn pointed pumps, a raincoat shimmers in technical velvet, and cargo pants are crafted from unexpected menswear tweed.
While the aim is clearly to revive the Rochas spirit, Vigilante remains grounded. He describes the Rochas woman of today as embodying “elegance, simplicity, and youth,” qualities subtly woven into the collection’s fantastical elements.
