K-Way, a fashion brand recognized for its packable rain jackets, held its Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show at a replica of the Café de la Paix in Paris, the Parisian café where the brand’s founder, Léon-Claude Duhamel, first came up with the idea for the brand during a rainy day in 1965.
The event began with guests being served champagne and sweets, but it quickly transformed into a fashion show where models walked the runway displaying the brand’s inventive and forward-thinking designs for nylon, puffer jackets, and outdoor wear.
The collection included a variety of styles, such as puffer-on-puffer ensembles, boxy shorts, quilted capes, and nylon gaiters, all in tonal orange, navy, and green. The show closed with a highly experimental piece, where multiple rain jackets were stitched together to create a colorful gown.
Additionally, the collection had a sustainable initiative, made from materials such as jacquard cottons, mohair, merino wools, Loro Piana’s “STORM SYSTEM” technology, “AMIABLE” recycled nylon scraps bonded to a silver membrane and “MOLINA” recycled down padding.
K-Way will be taking over the actual Café de la Paix in Paris’ Place de l’Opéra for a celebratory event during Paris Fashion Week.
