A masterstroke was witnessed in the world of fragrance last year when the tennis legend Rafael Nadal forayed into the realm of luxury perfumery last November. He joined forces with the distinguished French parfumerie house, Henry Jacques, to craft a unique sensory journey. Their resulting creation, an ultra-luxurious perfume collection, “In All Intimacy“, also involves an essential collaborator – Nadal’s life partner, Maria Perello.

One might initially be taken aback by the substantial price tag of $41,900 USD attached to this collection. However, moving beyond the initial sticker shock reveals a triumvirate of evocative fragrances, each narrating a distinct olfactory story: Rafael Nadal No. 1, Rafael Nadal No. 2 and Maria Perello.

The brand discloses that the “In All Intimacy” collection draws its inspiration from Nadal and Perello’s deep affinity with the Mediterranean, along with their love for their homeland, Mallorca, Spain. Each fragrance in the collection is a harmonious composition of notes, featuring the sweet essence of orange blossom, the aromatic thyme, calming lavender, exotic jasmine, refreshing citrus and invigorating bergamot.

The attention to detail in the packaging speaks volumes about the dedication to quality and luxury that characterizes the Henry Jacques brand. Each fragrance is presented in the maison’s signature “Clic-Clac” case, crafted from 5-grade titanium, adorned with a curved strip in tennis-ball yellow, reminiscent of Nadal‘s tennis legacy. The exclusive release, limited to only 120 units worldwide, further emphasizes the uniqueness and value of this collection.

In addition to his foray into the fragrance world, Nadal continues to make headlines in his primary arena – tennis. Recently, he announced his withdrawal from this year’s Roland-Garros (French Open), a tournament he’s dominated with a record 14 wins. Concerning his future in the game, he candidly shared, “The evolution of the injury I sustained in Australia has not gone as I would have liked. I have lost goals along the way, and Roland Garros becomes impossible. I’ll look to be 100 percent ready for next year, which I believe will be the last year of my professional career”.

But Nadal’s ambition isn’t just confined to tennis or perfumes. The Spanish athlete is also now a team owner in the UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric boat league. Reflecting on his latest venture, Nadal expressed, “I like the fact that E1 has a clear mission and is committed to preserving marine ecosystems”.
