The fashion world is abuzz with excitement as Lanvin welcomes Chinese actor Cheng Yi into its influential fold as its newest global ambassador.
Having collaborated with Yi for several years, Lanvin strengthens this partnership and expresses its trust and admiration for the actor’s unique flair and profound influence in the entertainment world. The Lanvin team shared their enthusiasm, stating, “Cheng Yi is a star of China’s bustling entertainment industry. He is part of a new generation of actors that are redefining contemporary Chinese culture on a global stage. With an appreciation for the elegance and contemporary energy of the new Lanvin, Yi is a natural addition to the developing universe of the Maison.”
Yi’s journey with Lanvin has been marked by memorable moments, including his recent participation in the Fall/Winter 2023 ready-to-wear show, where he shared the spotlight with other high-profile celebrities. Having risen to prominence since his debut in the 2011 TV series “Beauty World,” Yi continues to captivate audiences with his performances in hit series such as “Noble Aspirations,” “Love and Redemption,” and “Immortal Samsara.”
The ambassadorship announcement follows the April departure of Bruno Sialelli, Lanvin‘s creative mastermind for the past four years. In the wake of this change, Lanvin launched the Lanvin Lab, a creative incubator designed to foster collaborations with international talents.
Lanvin Lab’s first partnership is with rapper Future, who was unveiled in June as the brand’s first guest creative. The partnership includes the co-creation of a line of ready-to-wear and accessories for both men and women, to be launched for the Fall/Winter collection.
