As we celebrate Pride 2023, Dockers® once again articulates the essence of love through its new collection, emphasizing the manifold ways love can be expressed.
The saying of “I love you“, tattooing as a symbol of commitment, allowing your partner to have the last bite, or assisting someone in achieving gender euphoria by cutting their hair or taking part in their hormonal replacement therapy, all these are love’s facets that Dockers® is commemorating this Pride Month and beyond, with a fresh collection inspired by the limitless expressions of love.
Featuring five unisex designs, the Dockers® Pride 2023 collection includes two t-shirts, a tank top, a round-neck sweatshirt, and shorts, rendered in the brand’s signature khaki hues. A splash of color is brought about by a multicolor sun design throughout the collection, inspired by the notion of letting one’s light shine bright. Additionally, embroidery of American Sign Language symbols translating to “peace” and “I love you” adorns some of the designs. The purpose of each graphic is to convey the peace and joy found in expressing one’s love and individual identity freely.
Nic Rendic, Global Head of Design at Dockers®, stated, “Pride is an inclusive expression that should be celebrated all year round, which is why we wanted this year’s collection to reflect that. Whether you’re loud and proud or quieter, these pieces are versatile and comfortable, designed to suit any look and to meaningfully celebrate Pride before, during, and after the month of June“.
Dockers® collaborated with a group of six LGBTQIA+ creatives, including two couples and two single individuals, to imbue this year’s collection with a unique style. Each cast member attended a shoot at a studio in Paris, the city of love, to showcase the Dockers® Pride campaign and share their perspectives on what it means to love and be loved. These encounters were heartwarming, filled with kindness, and their stories will be shared by Dockers® throughout Pride Month.
Parallel to the collection, Dockers® is honored to continue its long-standing partnership with the Stonewall Community Foundation. For the sixth consecutive year, the company will support SCF throughout 2023 as part of initiatives aimed at helping LGBTQIA+ individuals across the country. This year, Dockers® has also donated funds to Casa Frida, a refuge in Mexico City that provides health and housing services to LGBTQIA+ community members fleeing extreme violence situations.
