Dolce & Gabbana rejoined the official Milano Fashion Week list for the presentation of their Spring/Summer 2021 collection.
The designer duo behind the brand, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, has found a new inspiration in the South of Italy, more precisely in Sicily – the island that has always been the source of inspiration for them. This time, the island was told through a union of pieces created by artisans’ hands, with different colors, forms and fabrics joined together in a combination of patchworks: a celebration of Fatto a Mano.

The show notes indicate that the garments were sewn together by an artisan “in a distinctive way according to shapes and colors, allowing each piece of fabric to create its own story.”
Each look resembled a DIY crafts project. Sundresses, caftans, jackets, skirts, jeans and even boots were created by designers from scraps of fabric of various textures and colors.
The clashing and colored result is somewhat fitting theme for an uncertain time.
