In a dynamic fusion of British heritage with relaxed contemporary aesthetics, the Dunhill Spring/Summer 2024 collection unfolds a new chapter in the fashion house’s journey. Freshly minted Creative director, Simon Holloway, uses this collection as an early canvas to express his plans to explore dunhill’s British identity from an invigorated and lighter perspective. He asserts a resolute desire to step away from the archaic and heavily traditional, preferring to celebrate a refreshingly “unfussy” masculine elegance.

Simon Holloway, who has honed his craft in illustrious fashion establishments such as Agnona, Hogan and Ralph Lauren, joined Dunhill earlier this year. While he did not fully oversee the conception of the spring collection, his fingerprints are clearly visible in the approach, injecting his minimalist and sophisticated touch into the DNA of Dunhill’s collection.

The Dunhill Spring/Summer 2024 collection beautifully articulates Holloway’s vision through its use of a primarily neutral color palette, serving as a canvas to demonstrate the nuanced balance of masculinity and sensitivity. The collection features an array of suede jackets, fine cashmere knitwear, crisp cotton button-downs, and luxurious leather separates in versatile shades of browns and navies.

Tailoring, being an integral aspect of Dunhill’s identity, experiences a softened transformation in this collection. We witness a spectrum of silhouettes from fluid micro-check wool-cashmere suits to the graceful drape of half-lined Belgravia wool jackets and cotton-silk pleated trousers, defying the conventional stiffness of formal attire.

The collection also resonates with Dunhill‘s heritage through subtly innovative elements. An expertly crafted unlined brown suede blouson stands out, offering a lightweight choice of outerwear for the warmer seasons. In a smart tribute to the brand’s roots, a navy wool shirt jacket incorporates unique cigar pockets, paying homage to founder Alfred Dunhill’s humble beginnings in a small tobacconist’s shop on London’s Duke Street in 1907.

The stage is set for Holloway’s official debut scheduled for next February in London, marking a significant shift from the brand’s usual Parisian backdrop. As we await this event with bated breath, the Dunhill Spring/Summer 2024 collection stands as an enticing preview of the brand’s refreshing shift towards a redefined, handsome, and sensitive portrayal of masculinity. With a nod to its British heritage, Dunhill confidently strides into a future where fashion converges with the essence of everyday life, making it more accessible and relevant for the modern man.
